The company Knipping in Zwaagdijk makes window frames, doors and dormer windows
The company Knipping in Zwaagdijk makes window frames, doors and dormer windows. This fully automatic ‘installation’ pickles and powder coats the aluminium profiles required for the manufacture of Knipping products. In 2015 EPMC Europe Crane Solutions supplied the automatic crane for the pickling of aluminium profiles in partnership with Schneider Electric. The control unit, hardware and software were executed with Schneider resulting in a perfectly functioning automatic crane and a very happy customer, Knipping!
Fully automatic pickling
The aluminium profiles need to be transported to any one of the ten physical positions of Knipping pickling plant. This is where the overhead crane comes in. The crane can be operated manually or in automatic mode. In automatic mode the curing and cool down times are set for each coating. The automatic mode has a fixed sequence as established in SFCs whereby the crane uses the advanced positioning function to accurately position the crane down to the last millimetre without causing the load to swing. The automatic programme can be started and stopped in any position and restarted.
